Late in 2013, a 5000tph coal shiploader was removed from the wharf at Adani’s Abbot Point, Queensland coal export terminal. In a complex operation, the shiploader was transported by heavy lift ship to the New Port shipyard at Mokpo, South Korea. The shiploader was extensively refurbished and upgraded, resulting a 200 tonne weight gain to 1250 tonnes and a bulk carrier loading capacity increase from 5,000 to 7,000 tonnes per hour.
Inatex provided EEHA audit and inspection services to ensure that the refurbished shiploader remained compliant with hazardous area regulations and continued to provide safe and reliable service to its owners and operators. Inatex was engaged under a multi-year call out agreement with Lloyd’s Register (as OGS).
